3 Reasons Not To Hire A Marketing Agency

Are you considering hiring a marketing agency to do the marketing side of things for you? If so, then you may want to consider this option. Most of the work that they can do for you are things that you can do for yourself. Plus, the fees that they charge to come up with campaigns for you are outrageous.

You don’t need to hire an agency. Your success in business depends on 2 things: a good list, and a good offer. I’m confident that you already have the offer, but the list is something that you don’t know how to get. Heck, some marketing agencies don’t even know how to get the list for you.

So why shouldn’t you hire a marketing agency? Well, I’ve put together some of my top reasons why you shouldn’t use a marketing agency. Here’s reason number 1:

1) They cost too much

For what they charge you, you could probably run a few display ads in your local newspaper – along with a direct mail campaign. And I’m willing to bet that you don’t have the money to fork over just to try out a new “marketing secret”. Your funds are probably tight, and needs to be used on something that is proven and guaranteed to work.

If you don’t have the thousands of dollars to hiring a marketing agency, I suggest you don’t do it. Here’s another reason why you shouldn’t hire a marketing agency:

2) The work is easy

Everything that they will do for you, you can do for yourself. And eventually you will have to start doing things on your own because once the contract is up with you and marketing agency, you will have to go back and start marketing on your again. This probably makes you want to vomit, but it’s just the truth of the matter.

Here’s the last reason why you shouldn’t hire an agency

3) You could find a good course on marketing

Instead of spending thousands on a marketing agency, you should know that there are “small business marketing products” out there that will help you to market your business. And these products cost considerably lower than what it would cost you to hire a marketing firm.

All you need to know about is something called “direct response marketing”. Marketing agencies specialize in brand advertising, instead of delivering you results right away – so you have to keep this in mind. Brand advertising will always take a longer time to work than direct response advertising, so give brand advertising the boot, and stick with direct response.

With all of these options considered, this is why I don’t consider you using a marketing agency when you can do the marketing yourself. Believe in yourself as a business owner and start bringing new customers into your place of business. You can do it without betting the farm on a marketing agency. 2+2 just doesn’t equal 4 when you hire an agency – so keep that in mind.

Good luck with using these tips to have the kind of marketing success you crave.

Tools, Training and Resources For Your MLM or Network Marketing Business

There is a lot to be said for having the right tools and resources, but I have found that having the right training is more important. Without the right training, the best tools and resources will mean very little. Someone once said that knowledge is power. I hold this to be very true. With the right knowledge you hold the keys to the vault, so to speak.

You’ve gone through the investigating, building your plan and budget. You have even picked out the opportunity that you feel is best for you. So now what? You have probably signed up with someone and now have an up-line. That person is giving you encouragement and maybe a few insightful tips on how to get started. You are logged into you dashboard or back office, they are one and the same, and looking at all the buttons and thinking to yourself, where to I start?

Believe it or not, the best place to start is with training. There is going to be all kinds of good information about your opportunity and you need to know as much as you can about it. When you start to talk with people about your opportunity, they are going to have all kinds of questions. If you can’t answer them, then you are toast. Forget Sponsoring them, unless they are already a fan of yours and willing to try anything you suggest. Quite honestly, I have found that not even family or friends are going to do that unless you can answer some basic questions.

Dig in and spend as many hours as necessary learning about the product(s) you are promoting, the different ways you can get paid as a business associate and everything else you can learn. Think of it this way, if someone approached you with a great opportunity, what questions would you ask? Write those questions down and then start answering them. Know this, you are not going to be able to answer every question, but if you can answer the lion share of them, then you are going to be seen as an authority on the subject. People will be more receptive to you and will not be bothered by you telling them that you are not sure, but that you will get the answers to their questions.

Preparing yourself in this fashion, will give you the confidence you need to talk with people about your opportunity/product. You will be well on your way to being an expert and this will set you apart from the majority of other network marketers, even the ones that are offering the same opportunity or product. I will say this again, people don’t buy products or opportunities just because they sound good, they buy because the person that has presented it to them is offering value, their leadership.

Now that you have taken the time to grow your knowledge, it is time to reach out and introduce people to your product and opportunity. There are many ways of doing this. Look at your budget and then craft an approach based on that. Part of a successful approach to building your business is making sure you brand yourself. I go back to the adage that people are interested in doing business with leaders and the only way to present yourself in this light is to brand yourself. You need to make sure that you have a website that offers you the ability to personalize the appearance and message and customize the site to fit you. The site must offer you the ability to capture prospects and then funnel them through a selling environment that will ultimately put money in your pocket and a list that you can market your opportunity too.

Direct Mail for Bus Services

Bus Services work on economies of scale; lots of seats on one vehicle and many people going the same way are what make it all work. But without massive amounts of riders how can you expect to have a successful bus company? The fact is you can’t and that is why bus services need a robust marketing and advertising program.

Advertising on the buses themselves is not enough to fill up those buses. Bus services need to discover low-cost strategic marketing concepts and inexpensive advertising to get new customers. Direct mail and direct mail marketing coupons are a good way to alert customers that bus services exist, which can save them money on their commute to school or work.

It is recommended that direct-mail marketing coupons in those little coupon packages are sent out every three months to everyone along the route with in a five-mile radius. These direct-mail packages should be sent out to insure that ridership stays at a high level.

One thing that can be done is to turn the coupons into a bus pass good for one day and people will use that bus pass and hopefully enjoy the bus ride and enough to become a regular customer. Direct mail marketing and direct-mail marketing coupon packages work very well for increasing ridership for bus services. Please consider all this in 2006.
